LOCKPORT -- The Woodward Township Board of Supervisors unanimously approved plans for a new restaurant at the Dunnstown Nittany MinitMart.
An engineer from Hawbaker Engineering, Robert Myers, attended the board's meeting with copies of the plans to answer any questions the supervisors or the public had on Tuesday night.
The restaurant will be across the street from the current location of the Nittany MinitMart, 25 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven, in the grass field next to the Dunnstown Laser Wash.
Plans have already gone through the township's Planning and Zoning commissions, receiving approval in previous months.
According to Myers, Hawbaker Engineering is ready to begin as soon as they are given approval from the township.
Supervisor Kyle Coleman asked Myers about the timeline for construction.
"We can start as soon as (the township) approves it. We have everything else, we just need the township," said Myers.
The projected completion is hard to say for certainty, but barring any supply chain issues or other issues, Myers anticipated sometime this year the restaurant will be able to open to the public.
Previously the supervisors discussed the plans for the restaurant having seating for 30 people. The plan is to feature made-to-order food, qualifying it for a liquor license.
Secretary Jackie Bartlett mentioned in a previous meeting the business was the winning bidder for the Clinton County Restaurant Liquor License at the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) license auction. The auction was held on Nov. 2, 2022.
The Woodward Township supervisors will meet again on March 19, at 7 p.m.
