RCTA to hold event Nov. 14 for those interested in starting a small business
RENOVO — Part of the Renovo Community Trade Association’s mission is to improve the economic development of the greater Renovo region. On Nov. 14, RTCA hopes to start the ball rolling on growth.
The organization has planned a Small Business and Entrepreneur Expo that will be held at Bucktail High School gymnasium. Agencies from across the region will be on hand to discuss the resources that they can provide to help start a small business.
“We recognize that development comes in all shapes and sizes,” said Kyle Stewart, chairman of the RCTA. “Pulling all the resources together and offering an opportunity for anyone interested in starting a small business is the first step in opening the door of possibilities.”
The Expo will host a dozen resource-based agencies including: Penn State Small Business Development Center (SBDC), PA Wilds, Lumber Heritage Region, Clinton County Tourism and Economic Partnership and SEDA-COG, as well as financing institutions, grant opportunities, insurance, staffing and training.
Breakout sessions will be held for attendees to offer more detail. For example, SBDC will present a breakout titled “First Step for Starting a Business.”
The RCTA partnered with Bucktail High School principal, Jim Poleto, and will be open to Bucktail juniors and seniors in the afternoon. The public will be welcomed from 4 until 7 p.m.
“We hope that attendees will see the opportunity of bringing their ideas to fruition, capitalizing on our beautiful area, the increased tourism and all of the potential that our region holds,” Stewart added.
The event is open to all of Clinton County and beyond.
