WINGATE -- The Bald Eagle Area School District has unanimously approved a 5-year contract for Nevin "Skip" Pighetti to serve as assistant superintendent for curriculum, instruction & innovation.
Pighetti currently serves as Principal of Howard and Port Matilda Elementary Schools at Bald Eagle Area School District, as well as Federal Programs Coordinator.
Skip began his teaching career in the State College Area School District, teaching for two years before returning to Bald Eagle Area.
Since 2002, Pighetti has served in a variety of roles at BEASD, including high school and middle school ISS and reading recovery teacher, driver's education teacher, first grade teacher, Title I reading specialist, elementary reading curriculum specialist, principal of Howard and Port Matilda Elementary Schools and Federal Programs coordinator.
Additionally, he has previously served as an assistant and head varsity wrestling coach at BEA, where he was recognized as PIAA District 6 Wrestling Coach of the Year in 2006 and 2007. Pighetti was recently inducted as a member of the 2024 Class of inductees into the Centre County Sports Hall of Fame.
A graduate in the Class of 1989 from Bald Eagle Area High School, Pighetti attended Penn State University majoring in Hotel, Restaurant & Institutional Management. He earned his teaching certification from Lock Haven University, Master's Degree in Education from Bloomsburg University, Principal Certification from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Superintendent Letter of Eligibility from PennWest University-California.
Pighetti has served on the board of directors and as president of the PA Association of Federal Programs Coordinators.

Skip and his wife, Coby, reside in Howard. They have two daughters, Gabrielle and Keeli. Pighetti begins his duties in January 2025.
