Students are helping other students at Avis Elementary School. The school has launched a Peer Tutoring initiative which is designed to give students the opportunity to get help with their schoolwork before the start of the day, in turn, creating a supportive and collaborative learning environment. “Our dedicated peer tutors, who are high-achieving students, are available to assist their classmates with homework, review concepts, strengthen reading skills or simply answer questions in a friendly, supportive setting,” a release from school officials said. The tutoring program takes place Monday through Thursday from 7 to 7:30 a.m. each week. Students who attend the school may come during the designated time to take advantage of the opportunity. “A huge thank you to our peer tutors for stepping up and making a difference in the academic success of their peers,” the release said.

Starting at $3.69/week.
