PennDOT: Bridge repair delayed to August
AVIS — Work to repair damage to a bridge in Pine Creek Township set to begin today has been delayed until late August.
The change was announced this afternoon by PennDOT District Press Officer Timothy Nebgen.
Nebgen did not offer a specific date the work will begin.
According to the original release from PennDOT, it will close the right lane of Route 220 northbound approximately half a mile before the Pine Creek exit in August as work to repair a Route 1016 (East Central/Woodward Avenue) bridge in Avis Borough gets underway.
This project will repair damage the structure suffered during a previous bridge strike, the release said.
The contractor is closing the northbound lane of Route 220 to work on the underside of the bridge. PennDOT anticipates that the contractor will complete the work in approximately two weeks. All schedules are weather-dependent.
