LOCK HAVEN — When Katie Gebhardt, a senior at Central Mountain High School, began planning her Senior Project, she knew she wanted it to reflect her values and make a meaningful contribution. What resulted was a months-long campaign that brought both funds and awareness to Pregnancy Resource Clinic, a local organization dedicated to providing community-funded services related to pregnancy, parenting and sexual health.

Driven by her passion for service and community, Gebhardt spearheaded a dynamic fundraising campaign that also collaborated with Lock Haven Catholic School’s change drive to support PRC.

“Working on the PRC fundraising was an opportunity for me to give back to our community. I was excited to raise funds through conducting a letter writing campaign, hosting a change for change initiative with LHCS and securing a matching donor. Volunteering and giving back leaves a positive impact on everyone involved,” said Gebhardt.

Altogether, both initiatives raised over $6,700, allowing PRC to purchase two new durable picnic tables for the organization’s backyard.

“The tables create a welcoming space for our clients, staff, volunteers and families. Katie’s dedication, thoughtfulness and follow-through were exceptional and her impact will be felt far beyond this school year,” said Site Director, Jen Redmon.
