Fair week begins to wind down; still much to do and see

At right, a crowd of Clinton County Fair goers check out a variety of food vendors during this year’s fair on a sunny evening. The fair continues today and into Saturday for those looking to enjoy the festivities. ASHTON PETERS/For THE EXPRESS

MACKEYVILLE — Though the 52nd Annual Clinton County Fair is beginning to wind down, there’s still so much to do and see and experience at the fairgrounds in Mackeyville.

Today is Veterans Day, sponsored by Gedon Funeral Homes, with veterans admitted free with proper ID and free parking, too.

You can stop by Clint’s County Fair Diner or one of many delicious food trucks before checking out a variety of animal shows throughout the day.

Veterans, their families and supporters should be certain to head to the Main Stage at 4 p.m. for a special Veterans Program.

5 p.m. will see registration for a hot dog eating contest and youth pie eating contest to begin at 5:30 p.m.

ASHTON PETERS/FOR THE EXPRESS Families are seen walking through the rabbits on display at the Clinton County Fair.

And make sure you stick around to hear some great live music by High Street at 6 p.m. and the Elvis Presley Tribute at 7:30 p.m. And in between, head over to the show arena to enjoy part of a giant ice cream sundae.
