BELLEFONTE — Mother Nature provided a beautiful Autumn day for the Walker Township Fall festival on Saturday, Sept. 27.
The event was held at the Walker Township Park near Bellefonte and sponsored by the Walker Township Parks and Recreation board.
The fun-filled event provided free games and crafts for children and families in the community.
Kids were able to decorate a pumpkin, make several crafts and play lots of fun festival games. Families were excited to stuff and create a scarecrow to take home, which is a yearly highlight at the festival.
Families were entertained by the magic and humor of Richard Benninghoff.

Children loved the amazing face painting of Leah Guizar of Faces by Leah.
They were able to explore a fire truck and visit with Smokey Bear. Plus, Batman came and made balloon creations.
Several agencies attended to provide interactive and hands-on experiences for the festival-goers.
The Entomology Museum at PSU shared many multi-legged creatures and Bald Eagle Park brought animal pelts to share.
Bellefonte Dental, Cen Clear and Youth Service Bureau also provided activities and information for families.

Many high school students volunteered to run the games and help with crafts.
Hailstorm softball provided a variety of festival foods and Marie Lane Bakery offered delicious sugar and sugar-free baked goods. Several local craft vendors were also on hand.
“Thanks to all who helped with this fun yearly event and to the many families who came out to enjoy the festivities in the very warm Fall weather,” a release from the recreation board said.
