Woman dies in Snow Shoe Twp. ATV rollover
SNOW SHOE — A woman died Sunday afternoon following an all-terrain vehicle crash in rural Snow Shoe Township, according to first responders.
Around 12:30 p.m., the Snow Shoe Fire Company was dispatched to 443 Kato Road in Centre County for a reported ATV rollover, the department said in a Facebook post.
At the scene, first responders found a female patient unconscious and in trauma arrest. Crews performed life-saving efforts for more than 45 minutes before she was pronounced dead, according to the fire company.
“Thoughts and prayers go out to the families at this time,” the department said in their statement on Facebook.
Sunday’s accident is the second ATV-related death this summer in Centre County.
On July 27, 59-year-old Howard Township man Roger Heverly died after he lost control of a 1988 Honda TRX 250R and struck a tree. Police said he was driving too fast and was not wearing a helmet or other protective gear.
No further details about Sunday’s crash have been released at this time.
