SOUTH AVIS — One of the region’s favorite fall attractions comes to a close this weekend, and the Pine Creek Corn Maze’s final weekend of the season is going to be a big one.

In addition to one of the largest and most challenging corn mazes in Pennsylvania, this weekend’s maze and festival will feature a nationally-known mentalist on Saturday night, and the corn maze will be haunted by actors from Spook Haven to finish out the season on Sunday night!

“We’ve tried to make each of our five weekends unique, and this weekend is no exception,” says Pine Creek Corn Maze organizer Jennifer McCracken. “We appreciate all of the businesses and nonprofit groups we’ve collaborated with this year, from our ‘Haunt the Maze’ with Spook Haven, to all of the organizations that have volunteered at the maze and festival. This has really been a community effort.”

Dustin Dean, a mentalist and magician from Upstate New York, joins the festival for a 5 p.m. show on Saturday. Dean brings a unique blend of interactive magic and mindreading, and has amazed more than 1,000 audiences.

Following Dean, popular local duo Bubby & Swales takes to the stage with their acoustic sounds.

For the second time this season, on Sunday beginning around 6 p.m., actors from Spook Haven ‘Haunt the Maze’ to close out the 2025 corn maze. There is a special admission of $20 for the Haunt the Maze event.

The fifth annual, this year’s 19-acre Pine Creek Corn Maze opens at noon both Saturday and Sunday, with a festival at Pine Creek Seed Farm running through 9 p.m. on Saturday, and 8 p.m. on Sunday. Regular admission is only $10, and from the farm, people are transported to and from the maze in an open-air trolley and can enjoy all the festival has to offer before and after taking on the maze.

Food and drink vendors on hand this weekend include Twisted Whisk Catering, Little Pine Coffee, and, on Sunday only, Cousins Maine Lobster.

Lost In The Wilds Brewing from Shippenville, Pa., brings their handcrafted beer to the festival. Tables and benches surround the stage so people can relax with some food and drink, and there are craft and informational vendors, games for all ages, a pumpkin patch and even goat and llama viewing.

The corn maze, at 39 Seeds Lane, Jersey Shore (South Avis), this year pays tribute to the Pennsylvania Wilds and all the outdoor opportunities the region offers. Making your way through the 3.6-miles of maze includes traversing outlines of the PA Wilds logo of a bull elk surrounded by a Keystone, a bicycle, a backpacker, a tent, a kayak, a fish, a four-wheeler and more.
