LOCK HAVEN — With the continued federal government shutdown and the Commonwealth budget at an impasse affecting individuals on benefits such as SNAP, The Express has compiled a list of food pantries and soup kitchens in the area.

LOCK HAVEN AREA

The Haven Cupboard

The Haven Cupboard, 340 W. Main St., Lock Haven, provides food to current students at Commonwealth University. Their hours are 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays and 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army, 119 E. Church St., Lock Haven, holds distributions for anyone in need from 9-11 a.m. each Tuesday and Thursday. The non-profit also has a soup kitchen open from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

RENOVO

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army, 127 7th St., Renovo, offers assistance from 10-11 a.m. each Monday and Wednesday.

Good Neighbor Center

Good Neighbor Center of Renovo Council of Churches, 320 St., Renovo, holds a distribution the third Thursday of each month from 9:30-11 a.m. Upcoming distributions are Nov. 20, Dec. 18 and Jan. 15.

BELLEFONTE AREA

Trinity United Methodist Church

Trinity United Methodist Church, 128 W. Howard St., Bellefonte, offers food distribution Monday from 10:30-11:30 a.m.; Tuesday from 4-6 p.m.; Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m.; Thursday from 4-6 p.m. and Friday from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Central PA Community Action – Bellefonte Food Pantry

The Central PA Community Action’s Bellefonte Food Pantry, 135 S. Allegheny St., Bellefonte, holds food distributions from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday and 1-5 p.m. on Thursday. They also hold emergency hours on Monday and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Faith Centre

The Faith Centre, 131 S. Allegheny St., Bellefonte, holds its distributions from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

St. John Lutheran Church

St. John Lutheran Church, 216 N. McAllister St., Bellefonte, holds food distributions the first Thursday of each month from 4-6 p.m. Upcoming distributions will be Nov. 6, Dec. 4 and Jan. 1. The program holds a curbside pick up. To pick up food boxes, drive around their traffic circle — stop near the door — and wait for personnel to bring boxes to you. Please stay in your vehicle.

Fillmore Food Pantry

The Fillmore Food Pantry, 114 Trinity Court, Bellefonte, holds a monthly distribution on the third Saturday from 9-10 a.m.

Milesburg Presbyterian Church

Milesburg Presbyterian Church, 101 Turnpike St., Milesburg, holds a monthly distribution on the first Tuesday from 1-3 p.m.

BEECH CREEK

Howard Area Lions Food Bank

The Food Bank location at 44 Vesper St., Beech Creek, (the former Beech Creek Elementary) Distribution is held the first and third Mondays from noon to 3 p.m.

JERSEY SHORE AREA

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army, 527 River Mill Road, Jersey Shore, offers a distribution from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Jersey Shore Care and Share

Jersey Shore Care and Share, 229 S. Broad St., Jersey Shore, holds a variety of service hours. On Mondays from 4-5 p.m. they offer Pantry choice; they offer emergency food assistance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To receive assistance, call 570-916-1317 or 570-360-0178. It also hosts a drive-thru distribution on the second Friday of each month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The New Love Center

The New Lover Center, 263 Henry St., Jersey Shore, offers a distribution to those in need on Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Thursday from 3-6 p.m. It’s cafe, located at 1407 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

CENTRE HALL

The Centre Hall – Potter Food Pantry

The Centre Hall – Potter Food Pantry at Grace United Methodist Church, 127 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall, regularly distributes on the third Tuesday of the month to individuals and families in the area. Snow Shoe/Mountaintop Food Pantry

The Snow Shoe/Mountaintop Food Pantry at Snow Shoe United Methodist Church, 501 S. Moshannon Ave., Snow Shoe, distributes food to residents in the area of Snow Shoe Borough, Burnside Township and Snow Shoe Township on the second Thursday of each month from 4-6 p.m., or by appointment. MILL HALL

St. Paul Food Pantry

St. Paul Food Pantry, 6220 Nittany Valley Drive, Mill Hall, (1 mile north of the I-80 interchange on Route 64), is open the second and fourth Wednesday of every month except December. In December they are open the second Wednesday. We’re open from 9 to 11 a.m. No documentation is required. You may call the church at 570-748-7932 or 570-726-7460. LOGANTON

SV Lions Club

The Sugar Valley Area Lions Club holds a food pantry at First National Bank in its basement, 4 E. Main St., Loganton, the second Wednesday of each month from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The pantry is restricted to residents of the 17747 zip code. Donations, both perishable and financial, are accepted during open hours.
