Rodriguez appointed to KCSD Board’s Region III seat
Manuel Rodriguez
LOCK HAVEN — Manuel Rodriguez, of Blanchard, has been appointed to fill the Keystone Central School District’s open Region III seat, following the resignation of board member Polly Donahay in October.
The district held interviews for the vacancy at their last meeting on Oct. 28.
Initially, two candidates — Rodriguez and Kimberly Johnson — were considered for the position. However, the board later learned that Johnson lives outside the Region III boundaries, which include Beech Creek Borough and Beech Creek, Curtin and Liberty townships.
“Unfortunately, after we had those interviews, we realized the mailing districts do not actually line up with the municipal districts,” said board member Roger Elling. “The one individual is no longer eligible, so with that we actually have one person that is eligible at this point.”
Board member William Baldino moved to appoint Rodriguez, with Chris Scaff seconding. The motion passed unanimously.
“I feel really happy that we had such great candidates, so thank you,” said board member Elisabeth Lynch.
Rodriguez works at Quehanna Boot Camp and has two children in the district. His appointment took effect Nov. 6.
