MACKEYVILLE — The Clinton County Fairgrounds is coming alive for the holidays!

The Clinton County Junior Fair Board is hard at work, preparing for the second annual ‘Clinton County Christmas’, a Holiday Light Drive-Thru event at the Fairgrounds in Mackeyville.

Hosted by the Clinton County Fair Association and organized by the Junior Fair Board, Clinton County Christmas takes place the first three weekends in December. The drive-thru features lots of lights and holiday-themed inflatables set up along a driving path around the midway section of the fairgrounds, so load up the family and come view the decorations and have some holiday fun!

Specific dates for the Clinton County Christmas event are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 5-7, 12-14, and 19-21. The drive-thru runs from 5:30 to 9 p.m. each night, and admission is only $10 per vehicle.

“We received such a positive response from the community last year,” says Adelaide Miller, president of the Junior Fair Board. “We’re excited to welcome even more people this year!”

“We’ve doubled the number of inflatables,” adds Junior Fair Board vice president Elizabeth “Izzy” Walker, noting that the group has definitely built upon last years’ inaugural drive-thru.

The 2025 Fair Queen, Miss Sarah Lavallee, will be on-hand to help kick off this year’s Clinton County Christmas on Dec. 5.

Walker says, “We anticipate there will be other visitors over the different dates, including the Grinch, and the Fair’s special character, Clint the Pig. We’ll also have hot chocolate available for sale.”

The Junior Fair Board organizes the Clinton County Christmas Holiday Light Drive-Thru as a fundraiser. The youth group’s mission is to advocate for agriculture and the Clinton County Fair.
