MILL HALL — Following the resignation of Mary Kramer from the Region IX seat of the Keystone Central School District Board of Directors on January 7, the board is now accepting applications from interested candidates until Jan. 28.

Kramer’s resignation was announced at the board’s work session on Jan. 8, and was due to her employment for Renovo Borough. Kramer was elected to the seat in November 2025.

Region IX covers nearly all of western Clinton County including Renovo Borough, South Renovo Borough, Leidy Township, Chapman Township, Steward Township, East Keating Township, Noyes Township, Grugan Township and Gallagher Township.

The board of directors have 30 days after the resignation to fill the seat.

According to a legal notice, the board will consider filling the vacancy at its Feb. 12 voting session.

To be eligible for the seat, interested candidates must be 18 years of age or older and have been a resident of the district for at least one year prior to the appointment within the region they are seeking appointment.

Further, the notice says, you may not hold other government offices or positions within the school district to be considered.

Those interested in being considered must submit a letter of application to board Secretary Christine Taylor via email at boardsecretary@kcsd.k12.pa.us or hand deliver it to Keystone Central School District, 86 Administration Drive, Mill Hall, PA 17751. The board will accept letters until 4 p.m. on Jan. 28.

Letters should include an applicants address, home and work phone numbers, a current resume and brief statement of reasons for seeking the appointment.

Candidates who are eligible will be interested at a special public meeting on Thursday, Feb. 5 at 5 p.m. in the district office board room. This meeting will precede the board’s regular work session at 6:30 p.m.
