KCSD football record holder Kole Corman nominated Mr. PA Football; Public invited to vote

TIM WEIGHT/For the Express Kole Corman (19), of Central Mountain, brings down a Jersey Shore player during the Jersey Shore vs. Central Mountain football game on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025. Corman set the Keystone Central School District single-season tackles record that season with 157.

LOCK HAVEN — After racking up 157 tackles and rewriting Central Mountain’s record book this season, junior linebacker Kole Corman is now in contention for one of Pennsylvania high school football’s top honors.

The Central Mountain football team captain has been nominated for the 2025 Big School Mr. PA Football Award, a prestigious statewide honor recognizing the top high school football student-athletes in Pennsylvania’s Class 4A, 5A and 6A programs.

The Big School Mr. PA Football Award has previously been won by some of the state’s most recognizable football talent, including Saquon Barkley and Miles Sanders.

Should Corman win, he would become the first Keystone Central School District student to earn the distinction.

Corman, a member of the Class of 2027, has played football since seventh grade and has quickly emerged as one of Central Mountain’s most dominant defensive players. A linebacker and running back, he is a two-year starter and two-time first-team All-Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference Division I linebacker.

Across 10 games during the 2025 season, Corman recorded 157 tackles, breaking Central Mountain’s single-season record, which was set by Logan Houtz in 2008. The total placed him third among juniors statewide and ninth overall. It also marked the second consecutive season in which Corman surpassed the 100-tackle mark.

He also holds the school record for most tackles in a single game with 24, as well as the record for solo tackles in a game with 15.

Alongside teammate Dalton McDermott, who also recorded 100-plus tackles, the pair became just the third defensive duo in school history to each eclipse the 100 tackle mark in the same season.

And now Corman’s on-field performance has earned him a nomination for one of Pennsylvania’s top high school football awards. The annual Mr. PA Football Awards, which Corman is in contention for, recognize the state’s standout players as determined by fans, coaches and the media.

The selection process includes five competitive rounds of fan voting. Voting is open through Jan. 16, when the field will be narrowed to the top 50 players statewide. Subsequent rounds will determine the top 10 finalists, who will be recognized at a banquet in Harrisburg later this year. If Corman advances to the finalist round, voting will continue through March 4.
