Eggler announces run for 76th District House seat

Sara Eggler

LOCK HAVEN — Sara Eggler, a long time resident of the 76th district, announced her candidacy for State Representative this week.

According to a press release announcing her candidacy, Eggler is entering her campaign with a simple belief: if a neighbor or a community needs help, you step up.

“I’m running because I grew up here and I know the challenges facing our communities and local economy,” Eggler said in the release. “I know how hard people here work, how much they give, and how often they get overlooked. Now, more than ever, our district deserves someone who will show up and fight for them — not a political party.”

Eggler is seeking the Democratic nomination but running on a nonpartisan platform, the release said.

Eggler believes that real leadership isn’t about party lines or national talking points; it’s about showing up for the people of the district she calls home, the release said.

Her priorities reflect the challenges she sees every day:

— Economic Opportunity: Eggler knows rural communities, like ours, get overlooked when Harrisburg decides where state assistance will go. She’s ready to fight for the small businesses and for the hard-working citizens in this district by securing grants and funding, and fighting for fair living wages, while showing up when it counts.

— Better Healthcare: Eggler wants to take on the rising costs head on by pushing for fair funding for rural providers so health care doesn’t become a luxury, while bringing more access to healthcare within District 76. In the release, Eggler said, “Healthcare shouldn’t break a family and we have a growing need for closer access to VA hospitals, as well as medical specialists.”

— Every Resident Counts: Eggler recognizes the importance of leadership that advocates for every resident, township and municipality across the 76th District. “Effective representation for our families, small businesses and local healthcare requires a willingness to work across party lines to advance practical, common-sense policies,” Eggler said in the release.

A campaign kickoff event will be held on Feb. 18 at the Dunnstown Fire Hall located at 119 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven, where residents are invited to meet Sara, share their stories and join a movement built on resilience, compassion and a refusal to give up on the 76th.

About Sara Eggler

Eggler’s roots run deep within the 76th District, a community volunteer and a fierce advocate for local families. Sara was raised in Clinton County, and graduated from Central Mountain in 2002. In 2006, Sara earned her bachelor’s degree from Lycoming College, a private Methodist campus in Williamsport, with focuses in art and religion.

Sara continues to serve her community as a top-producing real estate agent with FISH Real Estate, helping local buyers and sellers work toward the American dream of homeownership. Prior to that, Sara worked for Eclipse Resources, a State College based energy company involved in Marcellus & Utica Shale development in Ohio. She has spoken openly about the importance of recognizing the moment in history, when Pennsylvania needed leaders willing to responsibly develop natural resources and support energy independence, according to the press release.

She believes in a future where every resident has the chance to thrive — no matter how many times life tries to knock them down. Known for her loyalty, resilience and willingness to stand up when it counts, she believes in the power of a community that grows together — where every hand, every voice and every story helps shape something stronger than any one of us alone.

Eggler concluded by stating, “We will work hard and together we will build a district that works for everyone”
