LOCK HAVEN — In preparation of the Easter holiday, many area churches have announced their Holy Week Services:

PALM SUNDAY, MARCH 29

— St. John’s Lutheran Church, 216 McAllister St., Bellefonte, service at 9:30 a.m.

— Great Island Presbyterian Church, 12 W. Water St., Lock Haven, will have a service at 10 a.m.

— St. Mark Lutheran, 850 Snydertown Rd., Howard, will have a service at 10:30 a.m.

— Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, Main St., Mill Hall, will have a Palm Sunday service at 10:30 a.m. Palms will be passed out at the end of the service for those attending to take home with you.

— Beech Creek Wesleyan Church, 217 Main St., Beech Creek, Palm Sunday Worship Services featuring children and tweens, 9 a.m.

— Covenant United Methodist Church, 44-46 W. Main St., Lock Haven, and Rev. Justin Frear invite the community to the service at 8:45 a.m.

HEALING SERVICE, APRIL 1

— Wingate Faith Church, 111 Runville Road, Bellefonte (behind the Sheetz store in Wingate) will have a Healing Service at 7 p.m.

MAUNDY THURSDAY, APRIL 2

— Pathway to Christ Church in McElhattan will have a service at 6 p.m. The reenactment of The Last Supper is planned.

— Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven, will hold services with Holy Communion at 6 p.m.

— St. John’s Lutheran Church, 216 McAllister St., Bellefonte, will have a Maundy Thursday service which includes dinner and hand washing at 6:30 p.m.

— Salona United Methodist Church will have its service at 7 p.m.

— St. Mark Lutheran, 850 Snydertown Rd., Howard, will have a service at 7 p.m.

— Wingate Faith Church, 111 Runville Road, Bellefonte (behind the Sheetz store in Wingate) will have a service at 7 p.m.

— Phelps Chapel, 68 Phelps Chapel Road, Jersey Shore, will hold its service at 7 p.m.

— Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church will have a service at 7:30 p.m. with a simple meal, similar to the meal Christ ate before he was crucified. The evening will include a short service with communion in the large social room. Reservations are encouraged (for meal preparations) and can be done by calling the church at 570-726-4112 and leave a message of the number attending on the answering machine. Everyone is welcome to this very moving service.

— Great Island Presbyterian Church, 12 W. Water St., Lock Haven will have a service at 7:30 p.m.

— Beech Creek Wesleyan Church, 217 Main St., Beech Creek, will be open 6 to 8 p.m. for reflection and communion. Come and go as you’d like.

— Caldwell United Methodist Church, 11376 Coudersport Pike, Lock Haven, will host Woolrich UMC at 7 p.m. A Seder Meal will be shared before the service at 6 p.m.

GOOD FRIDAY, APRIL 3

— Pathway to Christ Church in McElhattan will have a Cross Walk on Good Friday. Meet at the McElhattan Park parking lot at 6 a.m. Participants will take turns carrying the cross.

— Rote United Methodist Church will be having a Cross Walk on April 3 at 7 a.m. Meet at Long Run Park in Rote at 7 a.m.

— Marsh Creek BIC Church will have Good Friday services starting at 11:30 a.m. with foot washing, followed by a lunch served at 12:15 p.m., and a Communion Service at 1 p.m. Call Pastor Longmore at 814-625-3544 for additional information.

— Pathway to Christ Church in McElhattan will have a Good Friday service at the church at 6 p.m. The program is entitled, “It is Finished — Jesus is buried.”

— Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven, will hold services at 6 p.m.

— Wingate Faith Church will have a Good Friday service at 7 p.m. The church is located at 111 Runville Road, Bellefonte, behind the Sheetz store in Wingate.

— Salona United Methodist Church will have a Good Friday service at the church at 7 p.m.

— St. Mark Lutheran, 850 Snydertown Rd., Howard, will have a service at 7 p.m.

— First United Methodist Church, 236 S. Main St., Jersey Shore, 7 p.m. will hold a “Wrapping the Cross” service.

— Services for Dunnstown and Swissdale United Methodist churches will be held at the People’s Church of Farrandsville United Methodist Church at 7 p.m.

— Great Island Presbyterian Church, 12 W. Water St., Lock Haven will have a service at 7:30 p.m.

— Good Friday services will be held at 7:30 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 216 McAllister St., Bellefonte.

— Beech Creek Wesleyan Church, 217 Main St., Beech Creek, Easter Sunrise Service, 7 a.m. at the church’s pavilion. Resurrection Service will follow at 9 a.m.

— Woolrich United Methodist Church will host Caldwell UMC at 7 p.m.

EASTER SUNDAY, APRIL 5

— Pathway to Christ Church in McElhattan is having an Easter Sunrise Service at 6 a.m., at the church. The program is entitled, “He is not here — the tomb is empty.” Later, at 10 a.m., the Easter Worship Service will be held at the church with the proclamation being “He Arose!”

— St. John’s Lutheran Church, 216 McAllister St., Bellefonte, will have Easter Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. in the traffic circle, weather permitting. Easter morning worship will be in the church sanctuary beginning at 9:30 a.m.

— Rote United Methodist Church is having an Easter Sunrise service at 7 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. Breakfast will follow the first service at 8 a.m.

— Wingate Faith Church, 111 Runville Road, Bellefonte, will have an Easter Sunrise service at 6:30 a.m., followed by a free breakfast beginning at 7:30 a.m. The Easter Sunday morning worship service begins at 9 a.m. The public is invited to attend services with the congregation members.

— Swissdale United Methodist Church will hold a Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. with sister churches People’s Church of Farrandsville and Dunnstown. A light breakfast will follow with Easter Services at 9 a.m.

— Marsh Creek BIC Church will have Easter Sunrise Service at 7:15 a.m. at the Yoder home on Highland Drive, off the Howard Divide Road, Howard. Breakfast will follow at the church at 8 a.m. and the Easter morning worship service begins at 9 a.m.

— St. Mark Lutheran, 850 Snydertown Rd., Howard, will have an Easter Sunday service and breakfast. Breakfast will be at 9 a.m. and the service will be at 10:30 a.m.

— Phelps Chapel, 68 Phelps Chapel Road, Jersey Shore, will hold a sunrise service at 7 a.m. — Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven, will hold services at 8:45 a.m.

— Laurel Run Church, 2899 Laurel Run Road, Beech Creek, will hold services at 7 a.m.

— Caldwell United Methodist Church, 15074 Coudersport Pike, Lock Haven, Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. followed by a light breakfast.
