During its final meeting in February, Covenant Cafe participants were treated to a presentation by AmeriHealth’s David Bellomo regarding healthy habits. They also had the chance to socialize and take part in a game of noodle ball with volunteers, as well as enjoy time with volunteer Pam Blesh’s therapy dog, Foxy Lady. The Covenant Cafe is a joint venture between the Nurturing, Outreach and Worship Committee of Covenant United Methodist, the Alzheimer’s Support Group and the Alzheimer’s Association. Participants in this group are given an opportunity to be involved in socially and physically stimulating programs which will help them remain as active as possible. Individuals and families who are interested in being involved in this free program which meets the first and third Tuesday from 1-3 p.m. are invited to call Fran Decker, MSW, at 570-748-4302 or 570-263-2084 for more information.
