RENOVO — On Saturday, just a day before Easter, Renovo area youth enjoyed two separate egg hunts, providing an afternoon as they raced to get as many colored Easter eggs, some of them hoping to find prizes inside.

At noon on the Bucktail Area High School campus, the Chapman Township Volunteer Fire Company held their annual Egg Hunt. About 100 young egg hunters had baskets and bags of all types ready for the big moment. As the anticipated noon sirens went off, the typical fury of action ensued as they gathered all the eggs they could grab.

Later in the day, from 2 to 5 p.m., the Guided Hand Project founded by Tyrone Mcclain, of Renovo, and Erin O’Brien hosted their now anticipated yearly egg hut at 900 Ontario Avenue.

Eggs covered the property as children of all ages gathered and collected as many as they could, all of them finishing with at least a couple of dozen in their baskets.

In addition to some lucky discoverers opening eggs to see that they won a prize, the Easter Bunny was on hand, spending as much time with the children as they liked.

That event also featured free picnic style food and, like the Chapman Egg Hunt, was yet another major success free for the community.
