Who is on the ballot in Clinton County?

LOCK HAVEN — With roughly a month and a half until Primary Election, local Democrat and Republican voters can expect to see a number of state and federal offices on their ballot.

The Primary Election will take place on Tuesday, May 19, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Those wishing to cast a ballot for either the Democrat or Republican candidates must be registered to vote by May 4. The last day to request a mail-in or absentee ballot is May 12.

The Clinton County Voter Registration Office provided the following information regarding who voters can expect to see on their ballots:

DEMOCRATIC

Congressional

Newcomer Ray Bilger will be the only person on the Democratic ballot as he runs for the United States 15th Congressional District seat. The seat is currently held by incumbent Glenn “GT” Thompson. The 15th District is the largest in the state and encompasses Armstrong, Cameron, Centre, Clarion, Clearfield, Clinton, Elk, Forest, Jefferson, McKean, Potter, Snyder, Tioga, Union and Warren counties and parts of Indiana, Lycoming and Venango counties. Bilger, a veteran, lives in Bellefonte and has over 40 years of experience in public service, according to his campaign announcement.

State Representative

Newcomer Sara Eggler is the only candidate on the Democratic Ballot for the 76th Legislative District for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. The seat is currently held by incumbent Stephanie Borowicz. The district encompasses all of Clinton County and a portion of Union County. A longtime resident within the district, Eggler’s campaign announcement noted she is running on the Democratic ticket but said she is running on a non-partisan platform.

Committees

Richard D. Fitzgerald will be on the ballot, looking to become a member of the Democratic State Committee.

Meanwhile, Sandra DeBonis will be featured on the ballot in Beech Creek Township as she looks to become the Democratic Committee Woman in the township.

REPUBLICAN

Congressional

Incumbent Congressman Glenn “GT” Thompson will be the lone Republican on the Primary Ballot as he looks to secure a 10th term in the United States House of Representatives. The longest-serving member of Pennsylvania’s House delegation, Thompson was first elected in 2008. Before serving in congress, he spent 28 years as a therapist, rehabilitation services manager and licensed nursing home administrator.

State Representative

Incumbent State Representative Stephanie Borowicz will be on the ballot in the upcoming Primary, looking to secure a fifth term in the House of Representatives. Borowicz was first elected to the position in 2018. According to Borowicz’s official website she is dedicated to restoring transparent, accountable government and replacing establishment politics with conservative principals. She was the first woman to be elected to serve as a representative of the 76th District.

Committees

A number of municipalities will see individuals looking to become local committee men or women.

Jeff Brinker, a current Lock Haven City Councilmember, will be included on all ballots as he looks to become a member of the Republican State Committee.

— Castanea Township: Angela C. Smith

— Chapman Township: Mary Kramer

— Dunnstable Township: Daryl Bucknor and Joyce Bucknor

— Wayne Township: Jason Smith

— Lock Haven Third Ward: Jeff Brinker and Bethany Brinker

— Lock Haven Fourth Ward: William Stankiewicz and Emily Wright.
