LOCK HAVEN — Flags of Honor for Memorial Day 2026 is expected to be a larger display than ever, as families and friends honor and remember loved ones during America’s 250th. Your treasured family names can be a part of this patriotic celebration year.
In addition, the full-sized American flags will be displayed in Triangle Park longer than ever before, from Friday, May 22, through both Memorial Day and Flag Day. The flags will be retired Tuesday, June 16.
Mark your calendar for Sunday, May 24, when the whole community is invited to the public ceremony among the flags, set for 12 p.m. Those who attend will receive a souvenir of this banner year in our nation’s history.
The Rotary Club of Downtown Lock Haven organizes Flags of Honor, and everyone may participate by sponsoring one or more full-sized American flags to remember or honor someone special.
To sponsor a flag, mail payment and information to Rotary Club of Downtown Lock Haven, P.O. Box 634, Lock Haven, PA 17745.

Be sure to include:
— Your name, phone number, mailing address and email address.
— The name and wording you would like on the flag plaque.
— A check for $35 per flag made out to “Downtown Lock Haven Rotary.”
Each name is printed on a plaque and displayed on a flagpole, large enough to be easily read by passers-by. All the names of the sponsors and of those honored will be published in The Express community newspaper and in the official event booklet.

If you send your order soon, you won’t have to worry about missing the deadline, which is Monday, May 11. Orders received after that date will be held for the 2027 event.
Businesses are invited to join the Flags of Honor Corporate Sponsors with a donation of $100. Each Corporate Sponsor will receive a sign to display, and each will be named on a banner at the park’s gazebo, as well as in The Express and the event booklet.
Proceeds support scholarships for Central Mountain High School seniors and also help local nonprofits.
