DUNNSTOWN — More than 65 people attended the annual Clinton County Democratic Committee Dinner, held May 2 at the Dunnstown Fire Hall. The event recognized outgoing committee leaders and featured remarks from Democratic candidates seeking state and federal office.

Certificates of appreciation were presented to members of the outgoing executive board, including Treasurer Lauri Schaitkin, Co-Chair Adam Coleman and Secretary LaKeisha Knarr. Shonah Hunter was named the 2026 Democrat of the Year, and Debbie Meder also received a certificate in recognition of her service to Clinton County Democratic Women’s organization and to the county committee.

Bre Brannan, county chair for the CCDC, introduced the guest speakers for the evening, which included Democratic candidates for both the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and the U.S. House of Representatives.

“It’s been a few years since we’ve held a dinner and over six since we presented the Democrat of the Year award. It was a great time celebrating our hard working party and highlighting our candidates,” Brannan said.

Sara E. Eggler, Democratic candidate for Pennsylvania State Representative in the 76th District, spoke about her campaign’s focus on local issues and bipartisan cooperation.

“I’m running to represent the 76th District because we deserve full-time leadership who delivers results,” Eggler said. “For far too long we’ve sent tax dollars out and watched too little come back. Our communities deserve a representative who will fight for our best interests, can cross party lines for common sense solutions and is accountable to the people, not a political party.”

Ray Bilger, Democratic candidate for Pennsylvania’s 15th Congressional District, also addressed attendees.

Bilger said his campaign is centered on bringing hope and opportunity to the district through better jobs, accessible healthcare and improved infrastructure.

Pennsylvania’s 15th Congressional District is the largest in the state and represents more than 750,000 residents in the U.S. Congress.
