Anyone in Clinton County who needs home repair or yard work may apply for a volunteer crew from One Family at a Time.
LOCK HAVEN — It’s the week that will change things for the better for local residents, and it’s coming very soon.
June 8-12 is the annual week of service that helps Clinton County “One Family at a Time.”
Volunteer crews will make small home repairs and take on other projects for people who simply cannot do such things by themselves.
Covenant United Methodist Church, 44-46 W. Main St., Lock Haven, is once again bringing together the work projects and the crews who can tackle them.
Do you need help in your home or yard? Do you know a family who does? Would you like to join the volunteers? Now is the time to apply!
Projects are being scheduled for Monday through Friday, June 8-12, during daytime work hours. Organizers are looking for projects that four to six people can accomplish in four and a-half days or less.
An adult in the family must be home while the work is being done.
Your project might be painting, weatherization, yard work or cleaning. Whatever it is, don’t wait to ask for help. Mission leader Sherry Wilson is taking applications, but the number of tasks that can be done is limited. Leaders also need time to visit and look over your project before deciding if it can be added to the list.
Volunteers are needed and encouraged to sign up soon.
One Family at a Time invites you to use five days in June to share Christ’s love in tangible ways and help give neighbors a make-over for their homes and maybe their hearts as well.
If you can’t volunteer Monday through Friday, you may sign up for just the days you are available.
Tasks range from drywall, siding, insulation and other skilled work, to runners, food prep and first aid.
This “hometown mission trip” is a great opportunity for youth groups, service clubs, teens, adults or anyone seeking that good feeling that comes from helping others.
