Best of Clinton County returns to DLH June 13

LOCK HAVEN — Downtown Lock Haven, Inc. has announced its annual Best of Clinton County Festival will be Saturday, June 13, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., on East Main Street in Lock Haven.

The event will feature over 60 vendors, exhibitors and artisans, live music, line dancing show, live radio, free children’s festival, parade and store sales.

The event is designed to promote the county and city talents, attract visitors and residents to downtown and focus upon making the area welcoming for everyone.

The over 60 vendors include Mama Martin’s Goodies, Pupnique Treats and Chews, The Lily Pad Mobile Booktique, BagelBagel, Crooked Wood Studios, Mair’s Legacy Soaps, Buzzie’s Sweet Treats, Whiskeyandwick, Pour Decisions Distillery, Shady Shack, Elysian Arts LLC, Tully Scott’s, Soothing Suds, Champions at Robb Elementary, Lock Haven Catholic School, Anne Hallenbake Ross Library, Clinton County Special Olympics, Blue Star Mothers of America, Lycoming-Clinton Joinder Board, Clinton County Pride Alliance, Commonwealth University-Lock Haven and Horses of Hope/Heroes and Horses.

Beyond the Bell for Clinton County is sponsoring a free children’s festival in the East Main Street parking lot and plans to offer free food, information, give-a-ways, games and activities for pre-registered children and families.

Live entertainment includes Chris Keppler’s A Rock Show at 10 a.m. with their popular and danceable music for everyone. Based in Port Matilda, A Rock Show is a regular on the music scene throughout central Pennsylvania.

At 12 p.m., Good Times Line Dancing troupe will entertain the crowd.

Beginning at 2 p.m., Phillips Saylor Wisor, a 20-year veteran of the underground North American folk scene, will perform his uniquely identifiable mountain banjo and his guitar style that combines Piedmont Blues, Bluegrass and Psychedelic Country influences. His captivating and boot-stomping style will please the audience.

The day will end with the annual Best of Clinton County Parade at 3:30 p.m., along East Main Street ending near Triangle Park. Stores, restaurants and businesses will be open throughout the downtown district for shoppers and diners.

“We’re excited with the line-up of entertainers, vendors and artisans this year. Our downtown and county have so much to offer our residents and visitors. We hope to showcase this area and make it an enjoyable day for everyone,” said Dr. Rick Schulze, DLH manager. “This is a team effort and we appreciate the support from the City of Lock Haven, Clinton County Government, Clinton County Economic Partnership and Visitor’s Bureau as well as our downtown merchants and businesses.”
