Commissioners declare Child Welfare Professionals’ Appreciation Week

The Clinton County Board of Commissioners declared June 1-5, 2026, as Child Welfare Professionals’ Appreciation week at its recent voting session. It was noted in the proclamation, read by Commissioner Angela Harding, that “these professionals have tirelessly safeguarded countless children from harm, often placing themselves in danger and navigating emotionally challenging situations to ensure the protection and well-being of children across Clinton County.” Accepting the proclamation was county Children and Youth Service Director Autumn Bower and employees Dana, Julie, Stephanie, Alison and Travis. Bower thanked the commissioners for acknowledging the work her department does each day. “I’m just thankful for the crew we have, the work they do. I think we’ve always been an agency that’s gone above and beyond. We’re not doing just the minimum,” she said. “These guys greatly care about the kids and families they work with.”
