Interviews begin for city manager position
LOCK HAVEN — Lock Haven City Council’s hiring committee has begun conducting interviews as it searches for a new city manager.
During its meeting on Monday night, Mayor Joel Long — who serves on the committee with council members Tami Brannan and Micah Clausen — said interviews of candidates would begin Wednesday, June 17.
City Planner/Interim Manager Abbey Roberts said six interviews total were scheduled, with the final set for July 3.
“We’ll just have four more to schedule after that. That’s just a matter of hearing from those candidates,” she said.
Long commented the process so far has been smooth.
“I want to thank the committee for a lot of great work you’ve done. We’ve had some great discussions and back and forth on how we should handle this and that,” he said. “I think we have a real solid plan on how we’re moving forward. It feels good.”
Brannan offered credit to the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) as well.
“DCED has been a huge help in this,” she said. “Getting us the things we need, helping us come up with questions, helping us with rating applications and anonymizing the applicants so we could truly look at their qualifications. It’s been a really good experience so far.”
