LH native Todd Kline winner of ‘Capture the Clinton County Courthouse’ puzzle contest

LOCK HAVEN -- The Clinton County Economic Partnership is excited to announce Lock Haven native Todd Kline as the winner of the "Capturing the Clinton County Courthouse" photo puzzle contest, the fourth edition of the annual "Showcasing Clinton County" Puzzle Series.

The special edition contest was created in celebration of America250PA, commemorating 250 years of American history and heritage, while continuing the Puzzle Series’ mission of highlighting the unique landmarks, places and stories that make Clinton County special.

Photographers of all skill levels were invited to submit their best images of the iconic Clinton County Courthouse. Kline’s winning photograph will be featured on the official "Capturing the Clinton County Courthouse" puzzle, providing a lasting way to showcase one of Clinton County’s most treasured historic landmarks.

Kline, is a Clinton County native and mechanical engineer who currently resides in Lock Haven

with his wife, Nancy. The couple enjoys reading, hiking, biking, kayaking and traveling, with Kline often documenting their adventures through photography.

The winning photograph was captured with Kline’s iPhone in the spring of 2025 at approximately 6:30 a.m. as he was walking home from the YMCA.

"I love taking pictures in and around Clinton County -- especially along the river -- and the morning light that day seemed perfect," said Kline. "It almost lends the photo a timeless quality. Like it could be from any era."

The winning image captures the Clinton County Courthouse in the soft morning light, offering a unique perspective on the historic building and its enduring place in the community.

The winner was announced by television personality and cyclist, Joe Snedeker, during his visit to Clinton County as part of his GoJoe "Red, White and You" benefit ride.

Snedeker made a stop at Veterans Park, located across from the Clinton County Courthouse, where he joined community members to celebrate the winning photograph and the courthouse’s important role in Clinton County’s history.

Built in 1869, the Clinton County Courthouse is one of the county’s most recognizable landmarks and a significant contributing building to Lock Haven’s Water Street Historic District. For generations, the courthouse has stood as a symbol of the county’s history, civic life and community identity.

"Capturing the Clinton County Courthouse" continues the Clinton County Economic Partnership’s annual "Showcasing Clinton County" Puzzle Series, which celebrates the places and landmarks that help tell the story of Clinton County. Through the series, local photographers are encouraged to see familiar places in new ways and share their unique perspectives with residents and visitors alike.

The Clinton County Economic Partnership congratulates Kline on being selected as the winner and thanks all of the talented photographers who participated in this special America250PA edition of the "Showcasing Clinton County" Puzzle Series.

The "Capturing the Clinton County Courthouse" puzzle will be available for purchase this fall at the Clinton County Economic Partnership, located at 212 N. Jay St. in Lock Haven, and online at www.clintoncountyinfo.com.
