Riverfest begins today at Lockport Boat Launch

LOCKPORT — The Woodward Township Recreation Committee is making final preparations for Riverfest 2026, with three days of family-friendly entertainment, live music, great food and exciting new attractions planned for July 9-11 at the Lockport Boat Launch.

Organizers are looking forward to welcoming residents and visitors for another memorable weekend along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. Returning favorites like the annual Duck Derby, local vendors and live entertainment will once again highlight the festival, while newer attractions are expected to bring even more excitement to this year’s event.

Riverfest will kick off today, Thursday, July 9, with food vendors, games and activities beginning at 5 p.m. Festival-goers can browse local vendors, enjoy a variety of food and settle in for an evening of live entertainment as Kidz at Heart takes the stage from 6 to 9 p.m.

The fun continues Friday from 5 to 9 p.m., with vendors and food available throughout the evening. Over the Influence will perform from 6 to 9 p.m., providing another night of live music along the river.

Returning this year is the East Coast Watercross Tour, bringing high-speed jet ski racing to the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. The races will take place July 10 through July 12, giving visitors the opportunity to watch skilled racers compete in fast-paced action on the water.

Saturday’s festivities begin at noon and continue throughout the day before concluding with the annual fireworks display at 10 p.m.

One of the festival’s biggest attractions, the annual Duck Derby, returns at 6 p.m. Saturday. Lucky participants will have the chance to win a $1,000 grand prize, along with several additional cash prizes, as thousands of rubber ducks race toward the finish line.

Duck Derby tickets are available now at the Woodward Township office, The Second Cup and Puff N Snuff in Dunnstown. Tickets will also be available during the festival while supplies last.

Closing out the weekend, Mixtape will perform from 7 to 10 p.m., leading up to the fireworks spectacular over the river.

Woodward Township Supervisor and Recreation Committee member Kyle Coleman said organizers are excited to have the East Coast Watercross Tour while continuing the traditions that have made Riverfest a summer favorite.

“We’re very excited this year to have the East Coast Watercross Tour join us for a fun-filled weekend,” Coleman said. “The weather is looking great for the majority of the event. The jet ski racing is high-speed racing full of excitement with stunts as well. We have a great band lineup this year for all three nights.”

Coleman encouraged residents to come out and support the community while enjoying everything the festival has to offer.

“We encourage everyone to stop down and support our vendors, support the Dunnstown Fire Company and also get your duck ticket for the Duck Derby on Saturday evening at 6 p.m.,” he said. “Someone will be lucky enough to win $1,000 for the grand prize when their duck crosses the finish line first. And we will cap the night off with a great fireworks show on the river at 10 p.m. Saturday evening.”

With live entertainment, thrilling jet ski races, the return of the Duck Derby and a fireworks finale, Riverfest 2026 promises another weekend of food, fun and community spirit for the entire family.
