Wreaths Across America’s mobile exhibit to make stops in Jersey Shore, other parts of region

JERSEY SHORE — Wreaths Across America (WAA) has announced that, as part of its yearlong mission to remember the fallen, honor those who serve and their families and teach the next generation the value of freedom, its Mobile Education Exhibit (MEE) will make numerous stops throughout Pennsylvania from July 21 through July 28 to share this mission with the community.

Wreaths for Central Pennsylvania will host the free, publicly open local events for the MEE national tour. The stops are as follows:

— Tuesday, July 21, at The Gamble Farm Inn, 311 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, from 2-8 p.m.

— Wednesday, July 22, at 515 Legion Rd., Muncy, from 1-7 p.m.

— Thursday, July 23, at 1015 N. Loyalsock Ave., Montoursville, from 12-6 p.m.

— Saturday, July 25, during the local Poker Run, at Antlers on the Water, 610 Antlers Ln., Williamsport, from 1-7 p.m.

— Sunday, July 26, at 185 Broad St., Montgomery, from 12-6 p.m.

— Monday-Tuesday, July 27-28, at 1015 N. Loyalsock Ave., Montoursville, from 1-7 p.m.

“The Mobile Education Exhibit provides the unique opportunity for communities to come together and share the stories of those who served and sacrificed,” said Karen Worcester, executive director of WAA. “The exhibit also serves as an official ‘Welcome Home’ location for our nation’s Vietnam Veterans and a place to teach future generations about the true cost of freedom.”

When the MEE pulls into the area, all veterans, active-duty military, their families and the local community members are invited and encouraged to visit, take a tour and speak with WAA Ambassadors and volunteers. They can also share more about the yearlong mission of the national nonprofit and the work its volunteers do to support our heroes and their communities throughout the country. Members of the media, dignitaries, veterans and other interested groups are urged to come, ask questions, share stories and experience this one-of-a-kind exhibit.

You can sponsor a veteran’s wreath anytime to support the local WAA program in Central Pennsylvania for $17 at www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/PA0586.

Each sponsorship goes toward supporting the many free programs and initiatives offered throughout the year, and places a live, balsam wreath on the headstone of an American hero as WAA endeavors to honor all veterans laid to rest on Saturday, Dec. 19, as part of National Wreaths Across America Day.

Starting at $4.10/week.
