Community Support: New Love Center opens pop-up pantry at Big Woods Bible Church

LOCK HAVEN -- A new partnership between the New Love Center and Big Woods Bible Church is bringing more than a traditional food pantry to the community -- it is bringing a source of fresh, nutritious food and support for local families with their newest mobile pantry location.
The monthly mobile pantry, located at 241 S. Hanna St., Lock Haven, will provide another food pantry option for families and households in the area.
Among those in attendance for the announcement and opening were Clinton County Commissioner Jeff Snyder, Robb Elementary Principal Tyler Barth and Geisinger Health Services Specialist Nicole Matrey, highlighting the continued community-wide interest in providing fresh and healthy foods for everyone.
Executive Director Holly Beaver said partnering with the church is especially meaningful for the center as she hopes this location will be beneficial for families connected to Robb.
Beaver noted the New Love Center has provided programs for students at the elementary school before through their Compassion Corner, where they provide healthy snacks to students, and she is hopeful that the pantry will provide another avenue for families to receive food within their community.
The New Love Center has continued to partner with local churches to provide space for the pantry each month, as well as volunteers.
Beaver called the program a "testimony of church service," emphasizing the importance of volunteers and community support in making this possible.
With Big Woods Bible Church providing a local gathering place, the New Love Center bringing its food-access expertise and community volunteers supporting the effort, organizers hope the pantry will become a dependable resource for families.
The New Love Center also holds pop-up pantries in other parts of the area, including in Beech Creek and Blanchard.
