With school just around the corner, the Guided Hands Project of Renovo held their annual backpack giveaway on Saturday afternoon. Over 60 kids stopped by to choose the color that they wanted as they prepared for summer vacation to come to an end. The backpacks were just a small part of the afternoon, as a summer picnic always takes place complete with game, food, a cotton candy machine a and slip and slide. The event lasted three hours and also serves as a chance for kids to reconnect with their friends and future classmates. The Guided Hands Project is hosted by Tyrone McClain and Erin O'Brien. Their backpack giveaway and Easter Egg hunts are permitted by Shannon Bruno on her property on Ontario Avenue.
