MILL HALL -- The Keystone Central School District has launched its search for its next superintendent.
In July, the district's board of directors unanimously approved hiring Templeton Advantage, LLC, in partnership with BLaST Intermediate Unit #17, to lead the process.
Tom Templeton, founder and creative director of Templeton Advantage, LLC, will serve as lead consultant, with Dr. Christina Steinbacher-Reed, executive director of BLaST IU #17, providing strategic consultative and logistical support.

The board is committed to designing a bold vision for the future that maximizes opportunities and success for every student."
Drawing on decades of experience working with school leaders, Templeton Advantage and IU #17 will work closely with the board to identify the leadership qualities, experience and personal characteristics that best align with Keystone Central's goals, culture and future challenges.
"The board was impressed by the depth and comprehensiveness of the search process," said Board President Elisabeth Lynch. "Beyond helping us identify an outstanding superintendent, the consultants will support the board with superintendent evaluation, goal setting, board-superintendent relations and other governance practices that will strengthen this partnership and position our next superintendent for success."
The application period will run through Aug. 31.
A release from the district indicated the board expects to conduct candidate interviews throughout September.
Templeton Advantage and BLaST IU #17 will assist with promotional and recruiting efforts, interview protocols, extensive logistics and process facilitation, while the Keystone Central Board of School Directors will retain sole responsibility for advancing candidates and selecting the district's next superintendent.
The Board anticipates naming its new superintendent in the fall of 2026.
The search follows the resignation of previous superintendent Dr. Francis Redmon in July.
Following Redmon's departure, the board approved a contract with Dr. Alan Lonoconus to serve as interim-superintendent until it hires a more permanent individual for the role.
Lonconus returned to the district after previously serving in an interim capacity in 2018.
