LOCK HAVEN -- As November's General Election nears, the Clinton County Voter Registration Office is asking registered voters who live in the county to serve as poll workers. The General Election is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 3.
"Every year, elections in Clinton County are made possible by citizens who step up to serve. Poll workers play a critical role in ensuring elections run smoothly by assisting voters, managing check-in processes, and helping facilitate the voting experience at polling locations across the County," a release from the registration office said.
The release noted poll workers are responsible for closing out a polling place at the end of the night and returning material to the elections office in Lock Haven.
"The county relies on these individuals to uphold fair, accurate and secure elections," the release said.
All poll workers are required to attend a mandatory training prior to Election Day and are compensated for both training and service.
Poll Workers earn $195 for a full day on Election Day. Election Day duties begin at 6 a.m. and continue until after polls close at 8 p.m.
Those interested in becoming a poll worker can start by completing the Pennsylvania Department of State's poll worker interest form by visiting www.pa.gov/services/vote/apply-to-become-an-election-poll-worker
Individuals who submit the form will have their information sent directly to the Clinton County Voter Registration Office for consideration.

"Serving as a poll worker is a direct way to support your community and strengthen the integrity of elections," the release said.
