MACKEYVILLE – Bring the kids out to the Clinton County Fairgrounds today! It's Kiddies Day at the 53rd Clinton County Fair, and there's a range of activities planned, thanks in great part to support from sponsors Dotterer Equipment, Horizon Federal Credit Union, and First Quality.
Kiddies Day registration begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Fairgrounds Main Stage, with a variety of activities starting at 10:00 and running through 1:00 p.m.
The amusement rides run from 1:00-4:00 p.m. today especially for Kiddies Day. During that time, thanks to Kiddies Day sponsors, families with children can pick up a special ride coupon at the Fair Office which entitles them to a reduced-price ride wristband. The amusement rides reopen at 5:00 p.m. at regular pricing and run until the end of the evening.
The Sunset Ice Cream stand offers a special at 1:00 p.m. today - receive a t-shirt with the purchase of a Sunset Milkshake.
People of all ages can check out the Clinton County 4-H and Future Farmers of America (FFA) Goat Show at 3:00 p.m. in the Livestock Barn.
American Idol 2016 finalist Isaac Cole brings his country music sound to the Clinton County Fair with performances at 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the Main Stage Pavilion.
The fun and excitement for the younger set continues into the night as youth age five to 12 are invited to the Fairgrounds Pulling Track for the third annual Kids Night at the Track.
"Bring your kids and their bikes, balance bikes, power wheels or power cycles for a night of fun and games," says Kids Night organizer Robin Seyler. "There will be obstacle courses set up, drag races and other fun contests, and the kids will be divided into their own age groups."
Seyler adds, "We encourage parents to bring some extra clothes for their children because there will be some water involved. We want to make this a night full of fun, plus a few prizes!"
Registration for Kids Night at the Track gets underway at the pulling track at 5:30 p.m., with the games starting at 6:30 p.m. For more information, reach out to Seyler at 570-660-5388 or rlseyler4262@gmail.com.
Also at 6:30 and 8:30 tonight, people can enjoy the musical duo K.A.R Music Box (Kandy and Randy), performing hits from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s at the Fairgrounds Auxiliary Stage.
Horseshoe pitching continues tonight at the Fair, with more qualifying rounds getting underway at 7:00 p.m.
Fairgoers are encouraged to stick around for the nightly drawing for bicycles at 9:30 p.m.
