Today is Buyers & Livestock Day at the Clinton County Fair

Local favorite Kidz at Heart brings their mix of oldies and classic rock, as well as modern country hits, to the Clinton County Fair tonight. They'll perform at 7:30 p.m. from the Auxiliary Stage.
MACKEYVILLE -- There's a full day of action today -- everything from a horseshoe tournament and a tractor pulling event, the annual Livestock Sale and the 4-H and FFA awards program, to a tribute to country music legends George Jones and Tammy Wynette -- as the 2026 Clinton County Fair wraps up an eight-day run at the fairgrounds in Mackeyville.
The Clinton County Fair Association designates the final day of the 2026 Fair as Buyers and Livestock Day, recognizing not only the dedication of local 4-H and Future Farmers of America (FFA) youth who have cared for hogs, cattle, chickens, rabbits and sheep, but also the many businesses and individuals who support those youngsters by bidding and purchasing the livestock they have raised. Always a lively event, the auction-style livestock sale begins at 3 p.m. today in the Show Arena.
Horseshoe throwers have been qualifying this past week to compete in today's tournament, which gets underway at 8:30 a.m. at the horseshoe pits. In addition to an Open Division, there is a Women's Division, a Youth Division for those under age 18, and a Master's Division for those over age 60.
Responding to requests for more pulling events, Bearly Controllable Pulling has added a second Fair Week Garden Tractor Pull. Before the noontime start of today's pulling event, they also want to give the younger crowd a try at pulling. Starting at 11 a.m., Bearly Controllable Pulling says, "We'll provide the tractor; you just provide the kiddo!" The pulling events are weather permitting.
The annual Clinton County Fair Parade -- about a quarter-mile trek around the fairgrounds -- steps off at 12:30 today. Parade organizer Heidi Nyman Weeder invites any organization, group, club or individual to participate.
At 2:30, the awards program for the Clinton County 4-H and FFA youth takes place at the Show Arena, followed by the Livestock Sale at 3 p.m.
The Fearless Flores Thrill Show has been wowing audiences with their extreme stunts this week at the Fair, and they'll perform three shows today, at 4, 7 and again at 9 p.m., weather conditions permitting.
Both of the stages at the fairground come alive at 7:30 tonight.
From the Main Stage, Nashville-based husband-and-wife country music duo Wayne and Alyssa Brewer perform their "Forever George and Tammy" tribute to country music legends George Jones and Tammy Wynette.
At the Auxiliary Stage, popular local band Kidz at Heart plays all the favorites, from oldies and classic rock, to modern country.
Three raffle drawings end the night -- and this year's fair -- with a bang. D.N. Dunkle Farms has donated a quarter-beef and a chest freezer that will be raffled off; area businesses and individuals have donated some 70 prizes for the annual fair raffle; and the last of eight nights of drawings for two bicycles is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. People can purchase raffle tickets inside the Commercial Building right up until the drawing. The bicycle tickets are free and are available one per person.
