MACKEYVILLE -- Senior citizens are in the spotlight today at the 53rd Clinton County Fair! Today's "Senior Citizens Day" means free admission and parking for everyone age 62 and older, with parking sponsored by the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home in Flemington.
The day gets underway at 11 a.m. with free Senior Bingo inside the Commercial Building at the Fairgrounds in Mackeyville.
At 2 p.m., singer Charles Lee brings "The Sounds of Charles Lee" to the Main Stage Pavilion. The energetic, one-man show features the sounds of Motown, Oldies, and Standards.
Area Seniors take to the Main Stage at 3 p.m. for the always-popular Sizzling Seniors Talent Show. Acts can be everything from singers and musicians, to poetry reading, and even comedy!
At 6 p.m., come watch or even participate in Line Dancing at the Main Stage, as Fawn Hosterman givens a demonstration that includes instruction and participation. The Line Dancing demo is also sponsored by the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home.
Also at 6 p.m. is the Clinton County 4-H and Future Farmers of America (FFA) Hog Show.
The entertainment continues into the evening Tuesday as popular local band, Flashback, performs two concerts, one at 6:30 p.m. and again at 8:15 p.m. The group plays a mix of Classic Rock and Blues and includes Mike Yoho, Bud Hoffman, Steve Hauser, Mitch Cohen and Brad Gibson.
Weather and track conditions will dictate whether the planned 7:00 p.m. race Tuesday evening at the Clinton County Speedway will be held.
Also at 7 p.m. are the qualifying rounds for the annual Horseshoe Pitching Contest at the Fairgrounds.
As the evening winds down, Fair goers are encouraged to stick around for the nightly free drawing for bicycles, held at 9:30 p.m.
