Today is UPMC Day at the fair; Elvis Tribute, baking contests, drag racing and more on tap

MACKEYVILLE -- Another full day of activities is underway at the 53rd Clinton County Fair, and today is UPMC Day, recognizing the health care providers' support of the annual fair!
Bakers began registering their creations at 7 a.m. this morning for several specialty baking contests, including the Blue Ribbon Apple Pie Contest; Incredible Angel Food Cake Contest, Homemade Chocolate Cake Contest and the PA Preferred Junior Baking Contest. The entries are then judged, with the winners seeing their creations auctioned off to the highest bidder tonight starting at 6 p.m. Winners also get to enter their recipe at the 2027 Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg and vie for a statewide title in addition to their Clinton County Blue Ribbon.
The annual Clinton County 4-H and FFA Sheep Show is scheduled for 11 a.m. today, with the 4-H and FFA Rabbit Show at 5 p.m.
The Sugar Valley Rural Charter School Future Farmers of America hosts a 6 p.m. program today.
Also at 6 p.m. is a new event, an on-foot rodeo triathlon where three-person teams compete in events such as goat tying, barrel racing and roping, all on foot. The triathlon -- to be held in the horse arena -- is open to youth ages five and up as well as adults.
At 7 tonight, KOI Drag Racing is scheduled at the Fairgrounds Pulling Track. Known for exciting drag races, KOI invites anyone interested to try their hand, saying, "If it has wheels and/or a motor, we have a class for it!"
Internationally-acclaimed Elvis tribute artist Ryan Pelton takes to the Main Stage for a 7:30 p.m. return performance, as Pelton packed the house during last year's fair.
People are encouraged to stay for the free, nightly drawing for bicycles that wraps up each night of fair week. The drawing is held at 9:30 p.m., and you must be present to win.
All Week at the Fair
The Fearless Flores Thrill Show begins six days of performances today at the Clinton County Fair. Death defying stunts and jaw dropping displays that take place high above the ground are scheduled daily.
Bingo is scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. today through Friday, and from 1 to 9 p.m. on Saturday.
As a reminder, the amusement rides open at 5 p.m. during the week, weather permitting. In addition, the rides are scheduled to run from 1 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday for Kiddies Day, and on Saturday, the final day of the fair.
