STATE COLLEGE -- A tentative agreement has been reached between Mount Nittany Health and members of the SEIU Healthcare union, which represents over 900 employees at the healthcare network.
A representative of Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College made the announcement late this week.
"Mount Nittany Medical Center and SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania have reached a tentative agreement on a new collective bargaining agreement," the representative said.
The tentative agreement comes months after the two entities failed to come to an agreement during contract negotiations in July. This included 98 percent of the 950 healthcare members within SEIU voting to hold a five-day strike, which took place July 27 through 31.
According to Mount Nittany, the tentative agreement will be presented to SEIU's bargaining unit members on Monday, Sept. 14. The members will then have the opportunity to ratify the agreement.
No further details were provided regarding the agreement.
