LH residents arrested for kidnapping, assault

LOCK HAVEN -- Evan Paul Pletcher, 30, and Chelsey Kay Probst, 23, both of Church Street, Lock Haven, were charged on Sept.17 by state police at Lamar for an alleged kidnapping and aggravated assault that took place on Sept. 13.
State police allege that Pletcher and Probst kidnapped the female victim as a result of a drug deal that had gone bad in Renovo Borough.
Probst and Pletcher had arranged to purchase drugs through the victim and another man, and the drugs were never delivered. In response, Pletcher and Probst took the female victim against her will and demanded their money back, according to police.
Pletcher and Probst allegedly drove the victim from Renovo Borough to the Beech Creek Mountain. During this time, Pletcher and Probst allegedly burnt her with cigarettes, stabbed her with a knife and took the victim's cell phone, police said.
While on the Beech Creek Mountain, Pletcher got out of the car and was bitten by a snake, resulting in the need for medical attention at Bucktail Medical Center, according to police.
While at the medical center, the victim is alleged to have been able to make contact with family members to help her.
Pletcher and Probst were both arraigned before District Judge Frank Mills and placed in the Clinton County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Probst posted bail, Pletcher did not.
The preliminary hearings for both are scheduled for Monday, Oct. 5, at 1 p.m., in the Clinton County Courthouse.
