LOCK HAVEN -- An Avis woman who pleaded guilty to corruption of minor charges and parole/probation violations last month received a maximum sentence in Clinton County Court of Common Pleas this month.
According to a release from Clinton County District Attorney Dave Strouse's office via Crimewatch, President Judge Craig P. Miller sentenced Gwen Rebecca Ardner, 42, of Avis, on Monday, Oct. 13, on six criminal offenses.
These offenses included new convictions to three counts of corruption of minors, first degree misdemeanors; one count of furnishing drug free urine, a third degree misdemeanor; possession of an instrument of crime, a first degree misdemeanor; and a parole revocation to conspiracy to commit possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony.
Judge Miller imposed consecutive sentences for Ardner with his intent to keep her held in a state prison for a maximum of 156 months, with parole eligibility after serving 28 months.
In late August 2026, Ardner entered guilty pleas to five criminal offenses spanning two separate criminal cases. These charges stemmed from incidents occurring between early January 2026 and February 2026 when Ardner encouraged a 16-year-old female juvenile to run away from her father's home; Ardner gave advice to the teen about how to hide drugs and tobacco products so that the juvenile's father wouldn't find them in the future; and Ardner engaged in a conversation and negotiation with the teen for Ardner to purchase marijuana and tobacco vape devices for her, including the arrangement of delivery to the juvenile, who was grounded in her home at the time.
Ardner also pled guilty to one count of furnishing drug free urine, a third degree misdemeanor; and one count of possession of instrument of crime, a first degree misdemeanor, stemming from Ardner's Feb. 13, 2026, attempt to use a bottle and plastic tubing apparatus affixed to her body to pass a drug test mandated by a pre-existing probation sentence she had been serving. The fake urine and apparatus were discovered at the Clinton County Correctional Facility after Ardner had been detained.
