BEECH CREEK -- The holiday season will arrive a little early in the Beech Creek-Blanchard community as residents and visitors gather Saturday, Nov. 14, for the 11th Annual Beech Creek-Blanchard Santa Jump.

What has become a much-anticipated community tradition will once again bring together local businesses, craft and food vendors, volunteers, organizations and families for a day filled with holiday shopping, delicious food, children’s activities and, of course, a special visit from Santa.

One of this year’s highlights is a generous donation from the Beech Creek American Legion, which donated six bicycles to the Santa Jump. The bicycles will be part of the event’s bike giveaways, adding a little extra excitement for area children and helping make the holiday season brighter for six lucky recipients.

The donation is another example of the community partnerships and local generosity that help keep events like the Santa Jump going year after year.

Visitors will find plenty to explore throughout the grounds, with more than 60 vendors offering an assortment of handmade crafts, gifts, specialty foods, home décor, jewelry, clothing, baked goods, holiday items and much more.

The Community Center will feature vendors offering everything from freeze-dried dog treats and homemade fudge to crystals, fossils, crocheted plushies, 3D-printed toys, Scentsy products, pumpkin rolls and so much more. The Community Center kitchen will also be open and operated by volunteers.

The Social Hall will offer even more shopping opportunities, including homemade candies, candles, snow globe cups, jewelry, country crafts, personalized gifts, wooden items and a variety of unique holiday presents.

Outdoor vendors will round out the shopping and dining experience with an impressive selection of offerings.

With so many vendors spread throughout the grounds, there will be something for nearly everyone to enjoy.

The fun begins at 9 a.m., with several activities scheduled throughout the morning.

Children can participate in free kids’ crafts from 9 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. inside the truck bays. A basket raffle will also be available in the truck bays beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing until after the parachuting event.

Visitors can try their luck with the 50/50 drawing, located behind the firehouse, or take part in a scavenger hunt. Participants can pick up a scavenger hunt card behind the firehouse before setting out to locate three additional stops throughout the grounds.

Adults will have an opportunity to participate in a free gift card giveaway for the chance to win one of eight Walmart or Weis gift cards, with drawings taking place every 10 to 15 minutes beginning at 9:15 a.m. and continuing until the raffle drawings begin.

The highlight of the day is scheduled for 1 p.m., when the skydiving team is expected to make its appearance behind the borough building on the ballfield, weather permitting.

Rather than arriving by sleigh, Santa will make a memorable entrance from the sky, continuing one of the event’s most recognizable traditions.

Following the parachuting event, children will have the opportunity to see Santa and receive a treat.

An event of this size would not be possible without the continued support of local businesses, organizations, volunteers and individuals who give their time and resources to make it happen.

Organizers of the event have extended a heartfelt thank-you to every sponsor, vendor, volunteer and community member who contributes to the event.

The Beech Creek-Blanchard Santa Jump is more than a day of shopping and holiday activities. It is a celebration of the people, businesses and organizations that make this community special. From the donated bicycles and local food vendors to the children’s crafts and Santa’s spectacular arrival, the event offers families an opportunity to make memories while supporting their neighbors.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, Nov. 14, and plan to spend the day enjoying everything the 11th Annual Beech Creek-Blanchard Santa Jump has to offer.
