JSASD to not fund local Pre-K Counts program

AVIS — A local daycare’s Pre-K Counts program may not move forward for the 2026-2027 school year. According to All Things Bright and Beautiful, located in Avis, it has been faced with paying thousands of dollars in increased transportation costs from a previous school year which it says it was not made aware of until grant funding had already been allocated. The daycare currently partners with the Jersey Shore Area School District. Police: Damage to door led to arrest of three accused of holding teens in apartment

LOCK HAVEN — Two teenagers were held at an apartment in Evergreen Commons regarding damage to a door and apartment wall, according to arrest affidavits filed last week. Three university students were arrested and face multiple felony charges after allegedly holding two teenage boys against their will in an apartment complex in mid-April. Lamar supers discuss zoning, investments

MILL HALL — Lamar Township supervisors spent much of their August meeting addressing concerns over zoning and building-code enforcement, while also moving forward with road maintenance, fuel and stone contracts, a major culvert replacement and the investment of $500,000 in township funds.
