Lumbering of
Little Pine
On Friday, Sept. 8, at 3:30 p.m., at Little Pine State Park, step back in time and experience the culture of the lumbermen in the late 1800's for the "Lumbering of Little Pine." Topics will include the local history and prehistory of the area, the different developments made in the era and the results at the end of the era. All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. Programs may be modified or canceled in the event of severe weather or new state or community guidelines. Meet at the amphitheater.
Monarch butterflies
On Friday, Sept. 8, at 7:30 p.m., at Little Pine State Park, join the park naturalist and learn about "Monarch Butterflies," which have attracted many peoples’ attention over the years. Its natural history, hardships faced and citizen stewardship will be some of the topics explored. All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. Programs may be modified or canceled in the event of severe weather or new state or community guidelines. Meet at the amphitheater.

Bring your own
kayak paddle
There will be a "Bring Your Own Kayak Paddle" at Little Pine State Park, on Friday, Sept. 15, at 1 p.m. During this program there will be a brief introduction to kayaking as well as a tour of Little Pine Reservoir. The history of the area as well as the flora and fauna will be topics of discussion. All participants are asked to bring their own kayaks (kayaks must have a PFBC Boat registration or State Park Launch Permit), a U.S. Coast Guard approved life jacket and whistle. All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. Programs may be modified or canceled in the event of severe weather or new state or community guidelines. Meet at the boat launch.
