Wildflower Walk
On Friday, June 6, at Bald Eagle State Park, at 2 p.m., join the park naturalist for a 1.87-mile hike on the Butterfly Trail to get some exercise and explore the flora and fauna we come across along the way. We will be exploring some of the native wildflowers this park has to offer. This hike is rated easy, but the terrain may be uneven and wet in some areas. Wear appropriate footwear and please bring a water bottle and insect repellent/sunscreen as needed. We will be meeting at Pavilion 6 in the beach area.
Insect Safari
On Friday, June 6, at Little Pine State Park, at 3:30 p.m., join the park naturalist for an "Insect Safari" and learn some of the characteristics of an insect and also go on a walk to look for different insects and their cousins. There will also be a craft. This program is intended for children, but anyone is free to attend. Meet at the contact station near the amphitheater.
Logging Legacy of Little Pine
On Friday, June 6, at 8 p.m., at Little Pine State Park, step back into time and experience the culture of the lumbermen in the late 1800's in the program "Logging Legacy." Topics will include the local history and prehistory of the area, the different developments made in the era and the results at the end of the era. Meet at the amphitheater.
Morning Bird Walk
On Saturday, June 7, at 10 a.m., at Bald Eagle State Park, experience an unpredictable morning of bird watching and become acquainted with birds that migrate through or inhabit central Pennsylvania. This program will consist of a short walk to explore for birds around the Winter Launch. Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. Please bring your own binoculars. All levels of birding experience are welcome.
Insects
On Saturday, June 7, at 3:30 p.m., at Hyner Run State Park, join the park naturalist and learn some of the characteristics of "Insects." There will be a craft. This program is intended for children, but anyone is free to attend. Meet beside the pool.
Hyner's Logging Legacy
On Saturday, June 7, at 8 p.m., at Hyner Run State Park, step back into time and experience the culture of the lumbermen in the late 1800's during the program "Hyner's Logging Legacy." Topics will include the local history and prehistory of the area, the different developments made in the era and the results at the end of the era. Meet at the amphitheater by the pool. Please bring a lawn chair.

There will also be a bat count, weather permitting. All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. Meet at the amphitheater (by the pool).

On Friday, June 13, at 3:30 p.m., at Hyner Run State Park, join the park naturalist in the program "Critters of the Creek" to learn about some different aquatic insects that call Hyner Run home. There will also be a craft. All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. Meet beside the pool.

All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. Please wear shoes to get wet. Meet at the footbridge at the Lower Picnic Area.
World of Bats
Kids in grades 9-12 are invited to an Outdoor Rec Summer Camp taking place at Little Pine State Park! Join educators from Little Pine State Park for three evenings of outdoor recreation instruction on July 9th, 10th, and 11th from 4pm-8pm each night. There will be opportunities to discover a new activity each night, including archery, fishing & kayaking/canoeing, and primitive skills. Registration is required, and priority will be given to participants that can make it to all three nights. Limited to 15 kids. All materials will be provided. Signups will last till July 1st.
