Various local parks will offer programs that folks may be interested in attending. All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. The programs may be modified or cancelled in the event of severe weather or community guidelines.
Bird Bingo
Join us on Saturday, June 28, for Bird Bingo -- a program to teach birding beginners about the different bird species that can be found in Bald Eagle State Park. Beginning at 10 a.m., we will be taking a 1.5-mile scenic walk of portions of the Woapalanne and Butterfly trails in an attempt to get as many Bingos as possible! Please bring your own binoculars if you can. Beginners of all ages are welcome! Some terrain may be wet or uneven, so please dress for the occasion. We will be meeting at Pavilion 6 in the beach area.
Berry Hike
On Saturday, June 28, at 1 p.m., join the naturalist at Bald Eagle State Park to go on a berry hike. Dig out those old berry picking baskets (or an ice cream tub works great), and come to pick your own black raspberries and blackberries found in the park. You can expect a mile long hike on relatively flat terrain, staying mostly to the trails, but long pants and bug repellant are recommended for when you venture off the trails into the taller vegetation. Meet at Pavilion 6 near the beach area at 1 p.m.

On Saturday, June 28, at 3:30 p.m., take a stroll around Little Pine State Park with the naturalist to see the different "Summer Wildflowers" coming out. Meet at the amphitheater.

On Saturday, June 28, at 3:30 p.m., come to Hyner Run State Park to learn about the different "Summer Wildflowers." There will also be a craft. Meet by the pool.
Evening Hike on Lakeshore Trail
On Saturday, June 28, at 7:30 p.m., at Hyner Run State Park, join the naturalist for an "Evening Hike on the Nature Trail." There will be a discussion about the flora and fauna seen along the trail as well as the history of the area. There will also be a look into trail information and etiquette. Meet at the amphitheater by the pool.
Tails on Trails
On Sunday, June 29, at 10 a.m., bring your dog and go on an adventure at Bald Eagle State Park. Join the park naturalist on a 2.5 mile walk along Skyline Trail with your canine buddy. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times and it is recommended that you bring bottled water for both yourself and your dog. Portions of the trail are on an incline and could also be wet or muddy so wear proper footwear. The hike is expected to last until noon. Meet at the Skyline Trailhead at 10 a.m.

On Friday, July 4, at 8:30 p.m., at Little Pine State Park, join the park naturalist to learn about "Fireflies" and why they light up nature during this time of the year. Meet at the amphitheater.
SMART
Fishing
Have kids? Want to introduce them to the sport of fishing? The program "SMART Fishing," which will happen on Friday, July 4, at 3:30 p.m., at Little Pine State Park, will be geared toward teaching others to be responsible anglers. Meet at the boat launch of Little Pine Reservoir.

On Saturday, July 5, at 8:30 p.m., at Hyner Run State Park, join the park naturalist to learn about "Fireflies" and why they light up nature during this time of the year. Meet at the amphitheater by the pool. Please bring a lawn chair.
Trout of Hyner
On Saturday, July 5, at 3:30 p.m., at Hyner Run State Park, join the park naturalist and learn about the different "Trout of Hyner." This will involve a walk to the stream. Afterward, we may have some time to share fish stories. Meet by the pool.
