Various local parks will offer programs that folks may be interested in attending. All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. The programs may be modified or cancelled in the event of severe weather or community guidelines.
Walk to ID plants
HOWARD -- On Friday, Nov. 14, at both 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. you can explore the wonders of the forest at Bald Eagle State Park with Forestry Extension Educator Cathryn Pugh on a leisurely walk through the scenic park. Whether you are new to plant identification or looking to sharpen your skills, this guided walk offers an opportunity to connect with nature, ask questions and observe the intricate details that make each species unique.
Walks will be up to 0.5 miles on gentle paths, with restrooms nearby. Please wear comfortable shoes. Register by Nov. 14 at 9:30 a.m. Meeting location will be given upon registration. Register on PSU's website, link: Plants in the Park: Plant Identification Walk
Baby Naturalists
HOWARD -- Join us on Wednesday, Nov. 19, in the Environmental Learning Center at Bald Eagle State Park for a calm, indoor program designed specifically for babies, ages six months to two years, and their guardians. Little ones will be free to explore conventional toys, sensory items and other natural objects at their own pace. We will also have some coffee and tea available for caregivers. Stop by anytime between 10-11:30 a.m..
