First Day Hike

HOWARD — In celebrating America’s 250 birthday, state parks across the country are organizing First Day Hikes on Jan. 1, 2026. Ring in the New Year with a walk in a winter wonderland at Bald Eagle State Park! We will be navigating park trails for a 1-2-mile hike and stopping to admire any wildlife or animal signs we encounter. Please dress for the weather and anticipate snowy or icy conditions. Trails are flat but will not be shoveled, so wear your boots! This hike is free of charge and fun for the whole family.

Family-friendly dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash. Meet at Pavilion 6 at 10 a.m. for the nearly two-hour hike.
