Car hits sign, trees
MONTOURSVILLE -- On Monday, Sept. 10, at 5:12 p.m., Morgan Ferdinand, 19, of Jersey Shore, was negotiating a turn from Lycoming Crossing Shopping Center traffic onto South Lycoming Mall Road, at which point her vehicle drove off the east side of the highway, striking an advertisement sign and two trees before coming to rest, state police at Montoursville said.
Ferdinand was transported by to Muncy Valley Hospital by Susquehanna EMS for an injury of unknown severity, and was charged with not using a seat belt, speeding, and roadways laned for traffic, police said.
Scam reported
BELLEFONTE -- State police at Rockview are investigating a report from a 33-year-old Bellefonte man who said he was scammed while trying to purchase cats online.
Police said the incident occurred between Aug. 11 and Aug. 29.
No injuries in accident
LOCK HAVEN -- Lock Haven city police investigated a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of South Fairview and West Bald Eagle streets at 3:55 p.m. Sept. 11.
Drivers were Joan L. Welfling of Lock Haven and Joshua A. Metzger of Montoursville, police said. Neither driver was hurt.
Police said Welfling ran the stop sign and was issued a traffic citation for a stop sign violation.
Parked car hit
LOCK HAVEN -- A vehicle operated by Steven R. O'Neal of Monrovia, Md., struck a legally parked vehicle on South Jones Street on Sept. 8 at 11:50 p.m.
City police said O'Neal was charged with careless driving, operating a vehicle without a valid driver's license and not using a seat belt.
