Two-vehicle crash
LOCK HAVEN -- Lock Haven City Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at 9:19 a.m. on Jan. 23.
According to police, a 2019 Jeep Cherokee being driven by Lyndsey Schnars of Mill Hall ran a red light at the intersection of East Church Street and North Jay Street. The Jeep struck a 2009 GMC Acadia driven by Nicole Schlear of Jersey Shore. Schlear was transported to UPMC Lock Haven for treatment of a possible neck injury. Schnars was cited for failing to stop at a red light.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Valley Collision.
Car strikes PennDOT truck
MILL HALL -- State Police at Lamar investigated a two-vehicle crash at 9:02 a.m. on Jan. 25 in Bald Eagle Township, Clinton County.
According to police, a Ford F-150 XLT being driven by William Hepner, 74, of Westport, Pa., failed to notice a PennDOT truck stopped along state Route 120. The pickup struck the rear of the PennDOT truck. Hepner was injured in the crash and taken to Williamsport Hospital. The pickup truck had to be towed from the scene by Hillside Towing.
Bad checks
PLEASANT GAP -- A Pleasant Gap woman reported she was the victim of bad checks on Jan. 23.
State Police at Rockview investigated the case of bad checks passed by John Sofronski, 45, of Irvona. The incident took place along Punkin Ridge Road in Chest Township, Clearfield County.
In another case of bad checks, someone passed bad checks at the Penns Valley Vet Clinic in Millheim. The incident took place at 8:05 a.m. on Jan. 14.
State police at Rockview investigated that case as well.
Two-vehicle crash
FLEMINGTON -- State police at Lamar were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash that took place at 12:26 p.m. on Jan. 24 in Flemington.
According to police, a 2006 Chrysler 300 driven by Beth Knarr, 57, of Lock Haven, was attempting to make a left-hand turn out of the Clinton Lanes parking lot, when it pulled into the path of a 2016 Ford Taurus driven by Rose Andrus, 50, of Lock Haven.
There were no injuries in the two-vehicle accident. Knarr was cited for her role in the crash.
Garage door damaged
MILL HALL -- A case of criminal mischief is being investigated by state police at Lamar.
According to police, someone damaged the East Building Door at 1028 Fox Hollow Road in Porter Township, Clinton County.
Police say the incident took place sometime between Dec. 29, 2019 and Jan. 3, 2020. The property is owned by Ralph Dotterer, 68, of Mill Hall.
Damage is estimated at $50. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact state police at (570) 726-6000.
Retail theft
MILL HALL -- State Police at Lamar investigated a case of retail theft at 12:44 p.m. on Jan. 25.
According to police, employees at King's Country Store complained they'd been the victim of retail theft. The investigation continues.
Man arrested after attempting to purchase firearm
MILL HALL -- A Minnesota man was arrested after attempting to purchase a firearm at noon on Oct. 4, 2019.
According to police, George Dapp, 75, of Pipestone, Minn., attempted to purchase a firearm at Miller's Gun Shop in Mill Hall. Dapp allegedly falsified information to purchase the firearm. Charges will be filed through Magisterial District Justice 25-3-02.
One-vehicle crash results in DUI charge
LOGANTON -- A New York man was charged with DUI following a one-vehicle crash that took place 8:07 p.m. on Jan. 10.
According to state police at Lamar, Brian Negrette, 35, of Port Jervis, N.Y., exited the Loganton exit of Interstate 80, attempted to re-enter and struck a guiderail. Negrette then struck a concrete barrier, causing his 2004 Nissan Pathfinder to become inoperable.
There were no injuries and police were assisted at the scene by Valley Towing.
Police investigate harassment
LOGANTON -- State Police at Lamar investigated a case of harassment at 11:38 p.m. on Jan. 24 that took place along Narrows Road in Logan Township, Clinton County.
According to police, Roger Lucas, 37, of Loganton got into a verbal altercation with Karen Lucas, 38, also of Loganton about putting a large piece of wood into a wood stove. The argument became physical and the male shoved and punched the victim. Charges have been filed in the incident.
Theft at Sheetz
BELLEFONTE -- State police at Rockview investigated a case of theft that took place at Sheetz along the Benner Pike in Bellefonte.
Police say that Steven McKenna, 47, of Aliquippa, Pa., purchased food at Sheetz and then took two packs of Tillamook Beef Jerky, valued at approximately $13 each and then left the store without paying. Charges have been filed in the incident, which took place at 10:23 a.m. on Jan. 17.
