LH man faces several charges
JERSEY SHORE -- When Tiadaghton Valley Regional police Patrolman Joshua Klinger arrived at the Susquehanna Campground outside Jersey Shore to investigate a report of an assault in progress about 5 p.m. on Aug. 17, he saw that David Harding's "right eye was swollen and there was blood on his shirt and face," according to the officer's affidavit.
Investigators allege that Dustin Askey, 35, of Lock Haven, punched Harding in the face because he (Askey) was upset after seeing his girlfriend, Cassandra Welshans, with him.
Harding sought medical attention to treat an "orbital blowout fracture" to his right eye, Klinger said in the court docu-ment.
Charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and harassment, Askey was held for court on those charges following a preliminary hearing last week before District Judge Jerry C. Lepley. He is free on $5,000 bail,
In another case, Askey and Welshans, 28, also of Lock Haven, have each been charged with theft for allegedly using another person's pedal boat at the campground without their permission, police said.
LH motorist charged after road rage incident
JERSEY SHORE -- Brayden Fisher, 21, of Lock Haven, faces multiple counts of recklessly endangering another person as a result of a road rage incident last month on Route 220 near Jersey Shore, according to Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police.
Police allege Fisher, who was driving on a suspended license, caused a three-vehicle crash by deliberately cutting in front of another motorist and slamming on his brakes in Porter Township at 11:20 a.m. Sept. 18.
Fisher has been charged with five counts of recklessly endangering another person, three counts of simple assault and one count each of accidents involvng damage to attended vehicles (hit-run), reckless driving and careless driving. He was committed to jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.
No injuries in two-vehicle crash
LOCK HAVEN -- Lock Haven City Police were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash that took place along East Park Street near Bellefonte Avenue in Lock Haven around 12:44 p.m. on Oct. 23.
According to police, a 2008 Toyota Prius being driven by Janice Colella, 19, of Elysburg, was making a right turn from Bellefonte Avenue onto East Park Street when a 2013 Chevy Equinox being driven by Georgie Bowman, 68, of Lock Haven pulled out from a parking spot. The vehicles collided and both sustained minor damage.
No one was injured in the crash and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
Driver fails to stop at stop sign
LOCK HAVEN -- A two-vehicle crash was investigated by Lock Haven City Police.
Police say that a 2010 Nissan Murano being driven by Allison White of Lock Haven was traveling along South Summit Street on Oct. 25 when she drove through a stop sign and struck a 2020 Ford Escape being driven by Mary McGinness of Lock Haven. White was issued a citation for her role in the crash. The Escape had to be towed from the scene.
The crash took place around 11:42 a.m., police said.
